Read the guideThere is no single best model. For daily commuting, a 10,000 mAh slim unit with 20W to 30W USB-C is plenty. For travel, 20,000 mAh with PD fast charging is the sweet spot. For a laptop you need 65W or more output. Check the mAh and watt figures in the listing title and read recent reviews with photos.
A typical phone battery is about 4,000 to 5,000 mAh. Because only roughly 60% to 70% of a power bank's rated capacity reaches your phone, a 10,000 mAh unit gives about 1.3 to 1.5 full charges, and a 20,000 mAh unit about 2.6 to 3. Use the Power Finder on this page for your own device.
Yes, in hand luggage only, never in checked baggage. Most airlines allow up to 100Wh (about 27,000 mAh at 3.7V) without approval. Many airlines now limit or ban using a power bank during the flight, and some mainland China flights ask for a 3C mark, so check your airline before you fly.
Many are fine, but advertised capacity is often exaggerated and cheap unbranded units may lack proper protection circuits. Pick listings with a clear mAh figure, thousands of orders, high positive feedback and buyer photos, and stop using any unit that swells or gets hot.
Hong Kong is a free port and does not normally charge sales tax or import duty on consumer goods. You usually pay the item price plus shipping, but always confirm the final total at checkout.
A magnetic (MagSafe-style) power bank snaps onto the back of a compatible iPhone and charges wirelessly, with no cable. It is handy on the MTR but slower and less efficient than a cable, so choose a normal USB-C unit when you need speed.
